COMMON ENTRANCE EXAMINATION FOR DESIGN / IIT

CEED is a qualifying examination for admission to Post Graduate programs (M.Des.) at :

IIT Bombay	M.Des. in Industrial Design, Visual Communication, Animation, Interaction Design, Mobility & Transportation
IIT Delhi	M.Des. in Industrial Design
IISc Bangalore*	M.Des. in Product Design & Engineering
IIT Kanpur*	M.Des. in Industrial Design
IIT Guwahati	M.Des

*GATE qualified candidates will also be considered

CEED qualifications in itself does not guarantee admission to the above mentioned programs. Candidates also have to fulfill other requirements such as tests & interviews of the respective institutions for admission. CEED examination tests the candidates for visual perception ability, drawing skills, design aptitude and communication skills.

The test is to assess the aptitude for design, visual perception ability, drawing skills, logical reasoning, creativity & communication skills.

Eligibility for CEED 2010: Candidates must either have completed or be expecting to complete any of the following, by July 2010

1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering / Architecture / Design/ Interior Design, or equivalent
2. Professional Diploma in Design (NID/CEPT, or equivalent)
3. B.F.A. (4 year professional programme, after 10+2)
4. G.D. Art (5 year programme after 10th) with one year professional experience
5. Master's degree in Arts / Science / Computer Applications

There is no age limit and a candidate can appear in CEED any number of times.

Admission Forms & Prospectus

1. in person, or by post) from GATE Office, IIT Bombay, on payment of non-refundable application fee of Rs.990 (Rs.495 for SC/ST candidates) by crossed demand draft in favour of IIT Bombay payable at Mumbai
2. ONLINE Application Printout, along with the Demand Draft for Rs. 950 (Rs. 475 for SC/ST candidates) by crossed demand draft in favour of IIT Bombay, payable at Mumbai, by Speed Post to GATE Office, IITBombay, Powai Mumbai 400 076 (write your name and application number on the back of the DD) and other enclosures (if any), is to be submitted in person at the counter of GATE Office, IIT Bombay or mailed only by Registered Post or Speed Post,so as to reach the GATE Office, IIT Bombay on or before Tuesday, November 3, 2009. Write "CEED 2010 ONLINE Application" on top of the envelope.
